The four steps.

01

The call

You tell us who is in custody, where they are held, and the bond amount if a judge has set one. We talk through what the bond will take.

If you only know a name, start with the name.

02

The paperwork

You sign an indemnity agreement and pay the premium, the regulated fee for the bond. New Mexico law allows no premium rate the superintendent of insurance has not approved.

Collateral, when it is taken, must be reasonable for the size of the bond, and it comes back when the bond ends.

03

The posting

The bond is posted with the court that holds the case. A licensed New Mexico bondsman may post bail in any court in the state, under that court's own rules.

Every court runs its own process. Tell us the county and we will tell you what we can do.

04

Court dates

The defendant is released to appear. Keep every date and the court exonerates the bond. Miss one and the court can forfeit it, along with any collateral behind it.

Exonerated is court language for finished. It is the ending every bond should have.

Have this ready when you call.

  • Full name of the person in custody
  • Date of birth, if you know it
  • Which jail, or at least which county
  • Court and case number, if there is one
  • Bond amount, if a judge has set it

Missing pieces are normal. The call still starts the work.
