Bail, step by step.

A-1 Bonding Corporation. Writing bail in Albuquerque since 1978. Two phone lines, one steady process.

How it works.

Four steps, the same on every bond. The State of New Mexico writes the rules. We walk you through them.

01

The call

Tell us who is in custody, where, and the bond amount if you know it. If you only know a name, start with the name.

02

The paperwork

An indemnity agreement and a premium. New Mexico allows only rates approved by the superintendent of insurance, so nothing is invented at the counter.

03

The posting

The bond is posted with the court that holds the case. A New Mexico bondsman's license is good in any court in the state, under that court's rules.

04

Court dates

The bond is a promise to appear. Keep every date and it ends quietly. Missing one puts the bond, and any collateral, at risk.
